Catch of the Week

Depending on availability, our Catch of the Week will be either Kob (Kabeljou), Carpenter and/or Cape Salmon (Geelbek). You will receive either one of these three fish when ordering the Catch of the Week – we cannot unfortunately guarantee which one, but all three of them are delicious and similar in texture and taste. The Catch of the Week will be at the fixed price of R90.00/kg (fillets) regardless of the fish variety. The minimum order is 600g.

Kob (Kabeljou)
Kob is caught off our Eastern Cape Shores. It has a firm white flesh that is great when fried in a batter, grilled and it is especially good on the braai. The fillets will stay fresh in the fridge for up to 2 days, but as they are fresh they can be frozen.

Cape Salmon (Geelbek)
Cape Salmon is caught off our coastline only at certain times of the year, as they migrate with the sardines to the Kwazulu Natal waters, where they spawn. They are an excellent eating fish and have similar flesh to kob. Preparation is similar to kob, but they can also complement a sashimi platter. The fillets will stay fresh in the fridge for up to 2 days, but as they are fresh they can be frozen.

Kingklip
Kingklip has been a long-standing favourite and is delicious and very versatile. The flesh is firm and white. Good for grilling, frying in batter, soups and bakes. The fillets will stay fresh in the fridge for up to 2 days, but as they are fresh they can be frozen.
